Description
A microscope slide of ringworm shows the characteristic structures of the dermatophyte fungi that cause this infection, most commonly of the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, or Epidermophyton. Under the microscope, the slide typically reveals slender, septate (with cross-walls) hyphae, which are the thread-like fungal filaments responsible for growth and infection.
