LCR Resonance Apparatus
Description
The LCR Resonance Apparatus is a laboratory instrument designed to study resonance phenomena in electrical circuits containing an inductor (L), a capacitor (C), and a resistor (R).
Description
Circuit Components: The apparatus incorporates a coil (inductor), resistor, and capacitor connected in series or parallel to form an LCR circuit. Adjustable knobs or terminals are provided for configuring the values of L, C, and R.
Signal Input: It features terminals for connecting a variable frequency AC signal source, allowing the frequency to be tuned across a range to search for resonance.
Measurement: Voltmeters and ammeters or digital meters are provided to monitor voltage across and current through the circuit. At resonance frequency, maximum current is observed in a series LCR circuit.
Operation: As the frequency of the input AC signal is varied, the apparatus allows observation of voltage/current changes and enables plotting resonance curves, clearly demonstrating the condition where inductive and capacitive reactances cancel (

Educational Use: The setup is used to explain and verify resonance, bandwidth, quality factor, and impedance relationships in alternating current circuits.
